Welcome to Old Oak House in this peaceful corner of Zagorje. We moved to Croatia from the UK in 2009 for a complete change of lifestyle. We love North Croatia and will provide detailed information about activities and restaurants to help you enjoy your stay.

Arrival and Departure Information
Check-in
Check-in time is from 3pm-9pm. Please contact us if you will arrive early and we will do our best to assist. Also, please let us know if you will be later than planned.
We must register your stay with the Tourist Board. We will take details of your passport / ID document and home town upon your arrival.
Access / Security
Unless otherwise stated you can let yourself in and we will come down to meet you. There is a dummy security camera at the corner of the terrace. It does not function.
Driving Directions
You will find us at Old Oak House Apartments, 97 Maruševeć navigating with Google maps. Enter through the covered gate (max head height 220cm - Bikes on a roof rack need to be dismounted) marked by the Old Oak House sign and follow the track through our garden.

Parking
There is parking in front of the apartment for maximum of 3 vehicles. No parking on the grass.
Check-out time
Check out time is by 10 am. Should you require a later check-out we will do our best but you need to let us know in advance. If we have guests arriving that day it will be almost impossible to offer a late stay as our cleaner will need to prepare for those guests.
Check Out Process
When you leave please ensure the following simple tasks are done.
Bag up your rubbish and recycling and place in the outside bins
Rinse off any used kitchen contents or BBQ equipment
Turn off all lights and appliances - except the hot water boiler in apartment 1
Lock up
Report any damage
Breakages
Should you break anything please let us know immediately so we can replace it for you.
About the Accommodation
WiFi
There is an open connection to the internet server OldOakHouse. Occasionally it cuts out in bad weather. Let us know so we can reboot it.
Food
We provide some basic condiments, tea and coffee. There is an excellent meal delivery service for those who prefer not to cook.
Fans
Standing fans are provided. There is a portable air conditioner unit in the main bedroom. The outside window must be opened to allow it to vent when in use.
Heating
Electric wall mounted heaters are provided downstairs and electric blow heaters are provided upstairs.
Hot water
Both ground floor bathrooms share a hot water boiler so it may be necessary on occasions to wait whilst the water reheats. The upstairs rooms share a bathroom and a 30l boiler which gives a 15 minutes warm shower before running cold. It only takes 15 minutes to reheat.
Cleaning and Laundry
You will find the apartment clean on arrival but please let us know if you are not satisfied. For stays of less than 6 days there is no cleaning service. If you require a cleaning service during your visit this can be arranged for an additional fee. Towels and sheets may be exchanged after 3 days on request.
There is a washing machine.
BBQ area
Please use the recycling bins provided separating meat, vegetable and other waste. If you use the charcoal provided please replace it or leave 20kn in the cash box. There is also a two ring gas burner.
Please clean the BBQ and utensils after use.
If you use the open fire pit please contribute to the wood fund.
Tree house
Feel free to enter the tree house where you will find table and chairs and a power point. Use of the tree house is at the visitor's own risk. Children must not use the tree house unless supervised by a responsible adult.
Tennis court
The court plus is free to use by guests. Playing equipment is in the green bin on the court. Please return after use.
Swimming pool
The swimming pool located on the terrace behind the main house is available to use daily 10.00am to 5.00pm from 1st June – 31st October. Please note:

No glassware in the pool area

TV
Both downstairs apartments have TV. Netflix is provided in the main apartment.
Garbage and recycling
General non organic rubbish should be placed in the brown bin on the far side of the Old Oak House.
Shops / ATM / Medical etc
Note there is a bakery, general store, pharmacy and fuel station approximately 2 km away.
Rental Rules
Payment
Full payment before arrival either by bank transfer or credit card in either Euros or Kuna.
No smoking
We operate a strict no smoking policy inside the apartments.
Dogs
Pet dogs can stay if requested in advance by the the owner. There is an additional charge of 10€ per dog per stay.
Complaints
Occasionally things can go wrong. If you have a complaint please notify us as soon as possible so we have the opportunity to correct it whilst you are here. You can also give us your complaint in writing or email. (see printed guide book for details)

Emergency Phone Number
Dial 112 for all emergency services. Please let us know if you called from the property. The nearest general hospital is in Varaždin. It has a 24/7 A&E department.
Medical treatment
Routine medical treatment is available at the clinic in Maruševeć (Pharmacy next door) and Ivanec health centre. Please call Valentina 00385 91 133 6437 if you need any help with this.
Fire extinquishers
There is a fire extinguisher in each kitchen area.

We want you to have a wonderful stay. Make yourself at home in our small corner of paradise. We will do what we can to ensure you are relaxed, comfortable and happy.
